Reset Windows Setting up this program will have to be done manually. Copy these three files to a directory of your choice (ie, c:\utility\resetwin) and then create a group to hold the three program items (readme.txt, resetwin.exe, and resetwin.hlp). Finally, if you like, add the program resetwin.exe to your startup group for ease of use. This program was created to facilitate the following operations while using Microsoft Windows; 1) exiting Windows to DOS, 2) restarting Windows, and 3) rebooting the system after exiting Windows. These functions are performed through program execution once the operator has selected the appropriate reset method. Reseting may be done unconditionally or after verification through an "are you sure?" dialog box. The program may also be activated with the "Stay On Top" option. Use of this option will place "Reset Windows" over all other executing applications. Detailed descriptions of all program features are contained within a Windows Help file. This program should be run from your startup group so that the user may easily perform the reset operations. This program always exists in minimized form and shows the operator the current reset method by varying the icon appropriately. The operator performs all user input through the control menu and may use pre-defined accelerator keys. This application was written using Visual C++ Version 1.5 and is NOT an MFC application. All functions are performed through memory efficient API calls. This program is intended as a Freely Distributed one, so feel free to pass this program to anyone you like. The only request that I have is that you send me feedback on your opinion of the program, either bad or good. - Fred Losi, Programmer CompuServe - 74444,3527 America Online - FLosi
